The aging in French oak barrels only contributed to consolidate the Old World character of this very unique 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, a wine that faithfully delivers all the distinct features of the varietal and shows great aging potential.

2013 Cabernet Sauvignon - Napa Valley

We source this highest quality fruit from the mecca of California Cabernet-Bella Oaks Lane just off Highway 29 in Napa Valley. This vineyard is among the famous company of Opus One, Nickel & Nickel, Robert Mondavi and Cakebread Cellars. 2013 was a hallmark vintage for Napa Valley and the Cabernet varietal received a 95 rating from Wine Enthusiast. The highly concentrated flavors of the fruit were the premise to this elegant and structured wine. We crushed 5 tons of hand-picked fruit and aged the wine in 100% new French oak barrels for 22 months to consolidate the Old World character and to faithfully deliver all the distinct features of the varietal. This wine presents a complex and elegant bouquet of black currant and blackberries, smoky sauces, cloves, caramel and eucalyptus; the mouthfeel delivers a powerful structure of warmth and tannins for an instant gratification and then a delayed pleasure… This wine has tremendous aging potential and although delicious now, will continue to evolve and delight over the next 10+ years.
