Première Price: $51.75
This stunning wine, sourced from the renowned Clarksburg appellation, wafts from the glass with aromas of black licorice, blackberry, and leather. On the palate, it shows huge but polished and perfectly balanced tannins framing jammy flavors of ripe plum, dark chocolate, and caramel.
Petite Sirah has its name for one reason, the size of each berry. With few exceptions, in red wines, the juice and flesh of the grape are clear, while the color and flavor are derived from the grape skins. With a grape-like Petite Sirah, which, by having small berries, has a small amount of juice and a comparatively large amount of skins, you get a deeply colored and intensely flavorful wine.
Food Pairing Notes
Great to warm the mind, body, and soul on a cold winter evening, or to complement a pork roast or grilled lamb chops.
