Petite Sirah 2016

The botanist walked through his rustic nursery, examining the progress of his vines. He almost passed the tiny green vine, just in its infancy, hiding between two much larger others. He bent down to pull it, but paused as something from above told him that this little vine was ordained for greatness.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
This estate wine, delivers complex aromas of garrigue and lavender while the bold body is highlighted by bright pomegranate and caramel. A hint of blueberry and dark chocolate on the finish make the mouth water for a tender chateaubriand steak topped with sautéed mushrooms.
Winemaker Notes
Petite Sirah was created by a chance cross pollination of the noble Syrah and ancient Peloursin vines in the nursery of French Rhône botanist Francois Durif. The word petite refers to the berries, which are very small and produce and intensely dark and powerful wine.
