The rain fell steadily as the shepherd moved his flock towards the path along the river. As the flock wound around a large boulder they abruptly stopped. Grumbling, he made his way to the front of the herd and looked down the river. A lone she-wolf sat on the bank, curled up, protecting something.
Hearing the sound of the man’s footfalls, the wolf looked up and unwound herself, revealing two infant boys. Gently she nudged them toward the shepherd, and, seeing that he would come for them, walked off quietly into the forest, her task complete.
She would never know the impact of her actions, of the legacy that the two brothers, Romulus and Remus, would establish as they founded and created the city we now know as Rome.

Tasting Notes
Like a morning fog, the delightful Mistero, our tribute to the great blended wines of Italy, slowly engulfs your senses with waves of complex aromas and flavors. Immediately, the aroma of huckleberry, with dashes of perfume and fresh oregano hint at the unique interplay of how well the Primitivo, Montepulciano and Barbera harmonize. On the palate, the richness of the Montepulciano is perfectly integrated with the candied raspberry flavors contributed by the Primitivo, finishing with the Barbera’s pleasant tannin reminiscent of peppercorns.
Food Pairing Notes
While this blend is versatile and does not need food to be enjoyable, it is a lovely choice with just about any wood-fired pizzas offered Friday through Sunday at our C ‘est la Vie Pizza Cart.
