The old vineyard was surrounded by a wall. Over the centuries rain, wind and hail had battered the stones, but still they stood, protecting the precious vines within, ensuring yet another vintage would prosper.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
A pleasing bouquet of ripe red fruits and a hint of wild sage. On the palate, it is round and approachable, with juicy raspberry jam flavors easing into a soft and delicate tannin.
Winemaker Notes
Mazuelo, the Spanish name for the traditional French Carignan variety, has been grown around the Mediterranean for hundreds of years. Today it can be found in France, Italy, and Spain. But we feel that Spain, where it is believed to have originated around the village of Carinena, from which the Carignan name derives, is where our favorite old-world renditions hail from. This unique example was produced from a forty-year-old vineyard in Pauma Valley.
Food Pairing Notes
A glass paired with the Fire Roasted Eggplant and Shishito Peppers at the Bolero Restaurante will surely provoke cheers of your guests' approval.
