Grand Mélange 2017
The bearded man clung to the wooden crate for hour after hour, the ship long gone beneath the roiling waves. After what seemed like an eternity the tides mercifully carried him and the crate to a sandy beach. Pulling himself and the crate ashore he opened the lid and saw the tender young vines inside. Looking up at the hills to the east he closed the lid gently and said, “You got me here, now I will get you there,” as he nodded into the distance and steeled himself for the long journey ahead.
