Cinsaut 2017

The harvester knelt next to the bushy, short vine and carefully pulled leaves aside as he severed every last bunch of grapes from the vine. It took a long time, but as he filled his basket and moved on he patted the vine, “Good work, my friend,” he thought to himself.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Welcoming and bright on the nose, aromas of baking spices, raspberry jam and anise promise a unique and subtle wine. On the palate it is almost reminiscent of Pinot Noir, with a bright acidity lifting notes of cherry compote and finishing in a long and well integrated tannin.
Winemaker Notes
Cinsaut is a classical Rhône Valley varietal that is customarily used in blending. We planted our estate vines more than ten years ago and have been so pleased with the quality of the fruit that we decided to keep the best clusters of the vintage aside as a single varietal offering for our members and guests. The results prove why Cinsaut should have a starring role on its own.
Food Pairing Notes
A natural choice with duck confit or lamb chops.
