Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2018
A few notes of jazz wafted through the evening, issued from a speaker far distant to the mellow River Seine. As the music played a few knowing smiles issued on the faces of young couples sitting on the banks, holding hands as they looked across the river at the full moon.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
On the nose, it is elegant and restrained, opening with aromas of candied cherry that slowly develop into waves of French vanilla and wild herbs. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with slightly smoky flavors of strawberry preserves lifted by a moderating acidity.
Winemaker Notes
Cabernet is like jazz, melded and molded from a few common ideas to span a range of styles, eras, and sensibilities. We love this grape for many reasons. However, the most intriguing is the way in which it delivers such a masterful performance of communicating the terroir from which it is issued from the earth as well as indicating the choices of the winemaker who shepherded it from grape to bottle. This Cabernet, grown in the cooler Santa Barbara region, is a bit of a time machine, taking you back to the time when Cabernet was more approachable, more about food friendliness and balance than sheer power.
Food Pairing Notes
A fine with grilled, garlic-crusted Portobello mushrooms or medium rare Filet Mignon.
