Barbera Reserve 2018
As night fell, the mason continued to stack stones, building the low wall piece by piece, as his family had done for five generations. Just as the last rays of the sun fell behind the western hills, he gently wedged the last weathered stone into place. Wiping his weathered hands on his worn corduroys, he smiled at the vines that lay just beyond his handiwork and began to walk home for a well-deserved meal and glass of wine.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Flying out of the glass with vigor, the nose is immediately greeted with delightful aromas of leather, lavender, nutmeg, and cherry compote. On the palate, it is made in the appropriate Northern Italian style, with a medium body and fresh acidity balanced by long-lasting flavors of raspberry preserves and a hint of spice.
Winemaker Notes
Barbera is considered by many to be one of the finest red grapes grown in the old world. In Temecula Valley, it has found a natural home in our quick draining soils, with roots digging deep in search of water, nutrition, and stability. This natural fit shows in the continuing critical acclaim that has been afforded these fantastic wines. In the past vintage, both of our Barberas, the Estate Reserve, and the Passport selection, received 91 points or higher from Wine Enthusiast. When we first tasted this one, we all felt that it was even more dramatic in its beauty than the stunning previous examples. A stunning effort and one that we are beyond proud to share with you.
Food Pairing Notes
The only thing better than enjoying this wine on its own is serving it alongside wild boar ragu, where it seamlessly complements this classic dish.
