Exploding from the glass with beguiling aromas of honey-dipped vanilla beans and peach purée, the remarkable complexity delivered by the rare and low yielding Manseng vines is immediately apparent. On the palate, the richness and full body are interwoven with delicious flavors of candied oranges and tangerine crème.
Winemaker Notes
In Jurançon, a remote, nearly forgotten corner of the rugged southwest of France, a family of grapes, the Manseng, grow in a few select vineyards. Uniquely amongst white grape varieties, Petit and Gros Manseng are very thick-skinned and capable of high levels of acidity, while also able to develop high levels of sugars over a long growing season. The results are incredible wines that, likely due to the naturally low yields of their vines, are quite an enigma to even many of the most knowledgeable wine connoisseurs worldwide. Rich, unctuous, and extremely vibrant, this is a white wine that will astound even the most jaded skeptic into an evangelist for the Manseng.
