Viognier 2018

His blond tresses were matted with sweat as the sun beat down on the Centurion and his small, dedicated band of warriors. Almost all who had started the arduous journey had been lost, only a few hardy souls remained. But the curve in the Rhone River was in sight, salvation was at hand!

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Bursts of ripe nectarine and apricot, with the rich body appropriate for a Viognier being balanced by a smooth and zesty acidity. Marmalade and candied ginger resolve into a hint of creaminess on the finish.
Winemaker Notes
A native of the northern Rhône Valley of France, Viognier is one of the most aromatic of all the white varieties, often described as ‘exotic’ or ‘heady’. It is quickly becoming the darling of the New World wine areas and has found a home right here in Temecula. Sometimes fermented in oak, we decided to use stainless steel in order to let the wonderful rich fruit character prevail.
Food Pairing Notes
A chicken satay or coconut curried tofu would love to join the taste party that this wine is throwing.
