Bursts of ripe nectarine and apricot, with the rich body appropriate for a Viognier being balanced by a smooth and zesty acidity. Marmalade and candied ginger resolve into a hint of creaminess on the finish.
A native of the northern Rhône Valley of France, Viognier is one of the most aromatic of all the white varieties, often described as ‘exotic’ or ‘heady’. It is quickly becoming the darling of the New World wine areas and has found a home right here in Temecula. Sometimes fermented in oak, we decided to use stainless steel in order to let the wonderful rich fruit character prevail.
Food Pairing Notes
A chicken satay or coconut curried tofu would love to join the taste party that this wine is throwing.
