Tasting Notes
Aged for a full year before bottling, this wine shows a remarkable mixture of surprisingly rich body, with an appealing acidity cutting a swath through aromas and flavors of banana brûlée, fresh candied tangerine and just a hint of wild, resinous herbs.
Winemaker Notes
2023 was a special year for California viticulture. An extremely wet winter led into a much cooler than average growing season, marked by moderate temperatures and a greatly extended growing season. This led to incredibly elegant wines that came in fully mature at lower sugar levels than in most years, giving wines of elegance and an appealing complexity, while being slightly lighter in character than their predecessors. This was the case for this spectacular Reserve Verdelho as well.
