Complex nose of ripe wild plums, figs, dried herbs, and bourbon; the mouthfeel is fleshy and powerful, but nicely balanced with proper acidity.
Barbera comes to us from the Piedmont region of northwestern Italy. Not only is it the most planted varietal in this noble region, but it’s also one of the most beloved. 2014 was a terrific year for wine grapes in Temecula and the Barbera grown on the slopes above Europa Village produced some truly remarkable fruit. We were wise to save 10 barrels aside in our private reserve and lovingly aged them in our cellar for just shy of four years. We are honored to share this wonderful wine with you.
Food Pairing Notes
The enticing fruit character, medium body and palate cleansing acidity make it a natural pairing for fine foods and it is the wine of choice in quality, local “ristorantes”. A few sips and you'll be transported to one of these classic eateries. Buon appetito!
