The wine coming from the press looked more black than purple, so deep was its color. The old man gently funneled it into a well used oak barrel. His neighbor walked through the door of the old cellar, returning the thief he had borrowed the previous day. Looking at the dark wine he grimaced and said, “You need to wash you your press, that wine is too dark” as he walked back out the door. The old man shook his head, “If it worked for my grandfather, it works for me,” he thought as he watched the wine continuing to flow.

Ola Morada is our most powerful and intense Bolero Reserve wine yet. With a color so opaque as to prevent even a wisp of light from traveling through it, we waited almost five years from the vintage until we felt it was finally ready to deliver on the promise that it had shown us when we had pressed it all the way back in 2020. Our patience was rewarded handsomely with an incredibly complex wine.
