On the nose, ripe and juicy plums with a unique aroma of Chinotto (is a citrus grown almost exclusively in Italy and used in a famous Italian soda); on the palate the beginning is smooth and coating but the finish brings back that zesty citrus and a long lasting freshness.
Our wine blended from almost equal parts Primitivo, Sangiovese and Montepulciano, all estate grown. Harvested in October at an average 24.4 Brix. Fermentation completed with 13.4% alcohol and aged in 30% new French oak barrels. With three varieties whose origins basically cover the whole Italian territory, we could legitimately call this blend a new-world “Super-Italian!”
