Graciano 2022
The sandy soils stretched over the low rise, dotted by gnarled old vines. Some would think it was dry and desolate, unappealing and stark, but in each vine, in each grain of sand, so much vigor, so much vitality, so much possibility existed!

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Peppery and dark fruit on the nose, it is beautifully powerful and rich, with notes of plum and blackberry framing a potent but well-integrated tannin.
Winemaker Notes
Graciano is a traditional grape of the legendary Rioja region of northern-central Spain. In its home it is very rarely made into a single varietal wine, instead being blended with Tempranillo and Garnacha. However, when we tasted the wine from the grapes grown in the meticulously farmed Bella Vigna Vineyard in the Mokelumne River AVA in Northern California, we knew we had to keep it separate. This fantastic vineyard, warmed by the sun of the inland valley and cooled by the breezes carried through the mazelike Delta, is one of the finest expressions of Graciano we have experienced.
