Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Explosively aromatic, this wine leaps from the glass with powerful suggestions of black plums, wet gravel and toasted oak. On the palate it is rich and palate coating, with flavors of blackberry puree and a grippy tannin reminding the lucky taster of its greatness for an extended period.
Winemaker Notes
Our Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is always made to the same simple, yet ambitious, formula. Use only the finest grapes from the most distinguished vineyards to produce the finest homage to the classic wines of the Bordeaux’s famed Medoc as we possibly can, and age it until we feel that it is completely ready for release. The 2021 rendition, aged close to three years in the finest small French oak barrels, continues this tradition with aplomb. We recently opened some of our few remaining bottles of 2013 Reserve Cabernet and they show that wines like these have the staying power for up to fifteen years or more in the cellar.
Food Pairing Notes
Bring out a bottle to impress your guests along with a fine ribeye, but be careful, you may need to have a second bottle ready after they taste it.
